Want to make room in your closet or tack room for new stuff? That is where we come in. As a consignment shop, we are constantly updating our inventory with new items from people just like you. We make the consignment process easy as can be. You send us your stuff; we take it from there and pay you your part of the sale once it has sold. Simple right? Just a couple of things to keep in mind.
We only accept items that are safe, in good working condition, and that we think we can sell for you. Our inventory gears towards all disciplines of English (Dressage, H/J and Eventing) and Western. With decades of experience, we can help a large number of sellers and buyers around the world. Our goal is to make the horse sport financially more reasonable for those who cannot afford the newest fashion in horses all the time. If it is a quality product, the word Pre Owned is not a bad thing and people watch for such items to come through. There is a slogan from Maine that rings true for our shop...should'a bought it when you saw it.... So as a consignor keep this in mind before sending us your items:
- Tack and Clothing must be clean and in good condition. No tears, major holes, monograming or business names of any sort. Sorry, it was maybe special to you, but most people do not want it. Exceptions would be trophy saddles. Small dings are still doable but if you have stains on your shirts, it is a no go. We will happily care for leather items coming in that needs conditioning, but do not pack up and send caked on dirty items from the barn before first cleaning them.
- We let you set the pricing to start, fair is fair, but we will advise you if we think it is unreasonable. I mean, the last thing you want is to have your item not sell because it does not compare to others on the market.
- We take care of all the advertising, communication, packaging, supplies and shipping. Our commission is 20% on the saddles, and we go 50/50 on everything else.
- If after 90 days we see no movement on your item, we will contact you and talk about lowering the price a bit. It is a buyers market and we have to be reasonable.
